When summer is on the way most women are thinking about updating their wardrobe. If you are looking for some ideas for what most people regard as essential items in a woman’s summer wardrobe, here they are. Your wardrobe requirements may differ depending on whether you live in the town or in the country and where you might spend your summer holiday.
Tee Shirts and Sandals
Tee shirts and sandals are items that no summer wardrobe should be without. If you still have tee shirts from last summer, joust buy one or two in this year’s favorite colour and style. Don’t forget a plain white tee as these are good with shorts, jeans and slacks. Feet can get really hot when the weather changes and a good pair of sandals are a must have. Get a pretty pair of sandals for evening wear and some flip flops if you plan on being near a beach this summer.
Maxi Dress and White Jeans
Favored in the nineteen seventies, the maxi dress has really made a comeback this last couple of years. Choose a brightly patterned dress in a crease resistant fabric, dress it up with a necklace and some pretty sandals and you are good to go. If you want to look smart when you are travelling then you can’t go wrong with a pair of white jeans, top them off with a smart blazer and a pretty pair of summer sandals and you are set for the journey.
Tailored Shorts
If you are planning a beach holiday then a pair of tailored shorts are great, both for on the beach and wandering around the shops as they are very comfortable and easy to move around in. Don’t forget your sunglasses while you are out.
Long Skirt and Silk Blouse
For that special summer evening dinners you can’t beat a pretty long skirt topped off with a silk blouse. Your blouse will look just as good with a pair of jeans if you want a more casual look.
Cotton Tunic Top and Wedges
A cotton tunic top is great as a quick cover up on the beach, just slip it over your bikini. Tunic tops also work well with jeans and cut offs if you are wandering around town. Get a pair of comfy wedges this summer as they will take you from day to evening, and you won’t get sore feet.
Bikini and Sunglasses
Summer wouldn’t be summer without some time to wear a bikini. Whether you are sunbathing in the garden or on the beach, keep cool and look good in a pretty coloured bikini. Simple coloured bikinis also look good if you’re not into brightly coloured swimwear; a simple mint green or baby pink will look gorgeous, especially if you already have a tan. Big sunglasses are very on trend right now, whether you are on the beach or out sightseeing the sunglasses will look good and protect your eyes from harmful UV rays.
Blazer or Jacket
Whether you are travelling or just want something to wear round your shoulders on cooler evenings, a blazer or tailored jacket makes the ideal cover up.
Embellished Top
Embellished tops have been a favorite staple for some years now and they are great to wear with cut-offs, jeans or with a long skirt in the evening.
